Professional Details

Barron’s role at Affinity is to lead our education and training programs and he’s a specialist with “core production tools” which include Microsoft Word, Outlook & Excel, as well as several PDF programs including Adobe Acrobat. He also automates complex document sets (such as estate planning documents) with the HotDocs document assembly platform. Finally, Barron teaches continuing legal education classes on technology, ethics and practice management. Barron practiced law from 1993 to 1997, then began offering technology services to lawyers in 1997. He is a founding partner of Affinity Consulting Group.

Barron’s superpowers are his ability to convey complex technical instruction with enthusiasm and humor; and to automate extremely complex documents. Teaching continuing legal education classes in front of a live audience is his favorite part of his job.

Personal Details

Barron loves to cook, and he prepares 100% of the meals his family eats at home. Barron’s cooking is also the primary reason his three adult daughters visit on the weekends. He is always adding more smart devices to his smart home and doing home improvement projects. Although he’s not an electrician, plumber or carpenter, he likes to pretend that he is; and luckily, no one has gotten hurt and his house hasn’t burned down or flooded (so far). He also loves to hike, bike, and take walks with his wife and dog Roxie. He describes himself as “always in a hurry,” and drives so aggressively that none of his daughters will voluntarily get in the car with him – although he’s quick to point out that he’s never had an accident in 42 years of driving (knock on wood).
