Professional Details

As Marketing Events Manager, Karen leverages over 25 years of expertise to create impactful and engaging events that resonate with legal professionals. With a knack for organization, collaboration, and creative execution, she ensures each event reflects Affinity’s mission of empowering law firms to achieve success through strategic transformation.

With over 25 years in the marketing world, as the song says, She’s been everywhere. Karen kicked off her career at Cleveland Opera. She earned my marketing and management chops in banking, manufacturing and higher ed. And by founding her own marketing company, juggling everything from branding to event planning. Along the way, she dove into partnerships, launched brands in the U.S., and even expanded distribution for a food startup (yes, BBQ sauce included!). Each role sharpened her skills in strategy, operations, and creating memorable experiences, eventually paving the way for her to dive into the legal world and craft events that leave a lasting impression.

Karen’s superpower is her ability to bring sunshine and positive energy to any situation. Creating exceptional experiences for Affinity’s clients, friends, and partners is her favorite part of her job.

Personal Details

Karen lives in Northeast Ohio with her husband, Jim, and labradoodle, Baxter. When she isn’t juggling marketing events at Affinity, she and her husband are cooking up a storm, following her adult sons in their growing careers, or tossing a ball around the backyard for Baxter. Sitting still rarely happens in the Scher household, but when it does, it usually involves a beach in the Outer Banks.
